Simple Budget-Friendly Toddler St. Patrick’s Day Activities
If you are looking to celebrate March with a few simple Budget-Friendly Toddler St. Patrick’s Day activities, this is the post for you. Read to learn more about five simple activities I did with my toddler this week that were cost-efficient, memorable, and fun!
Activity 1: Felt Shamrock Scavenger Hunt
Materials needed: felt (or paper) shamrocks, a basket or container (I got mine from Dollar Tree but you can find them on Amazon as well!)
Instructions: Simply spread the shamrocks throughout your house or a designated room and have your toddler search for them. Depending on your toddler’s age, it may be helpful to model this activity first.
Benefits: This activity helps enhance problem-solving skills to locate hidden items. Scavenger hunts can also help improve children’s cognitive abilities and boost their confidence!
Activity 2: Rainbow Matching with Colored Popsicle Sticks
Materials needed: colored popsicle sticks, colored paper
Instructions: This activity is so simple but so good! Lay out your colored construction paper on the ground in rainbow order. Show yourself matching the popsicle sticks with the colored paper. Have your toddler try it!
Benefits: This activity helps with color recognition and fine motor skills. Plus, children get so excited when they match the colors correctly! This is one of my favorite simple budget-friendly toddler St. Patrick’s Day Activities!
I found my popsicle sticks at Dollar General, but you can also order them on Amazon.
My daughter had a lot of fun with this activity, but it did take some modeling at first. Once she understood the concept, we were good to go! Watch the TikTok below to see how it went!
Activity 3: Gold Coin Scoop
Materials needed: gold coins, water (add green food coloring for fun), 2 containers, 1 scoop
Instructions: Fill a small container with water and add green food coloring (optional). Then add the gold coins. Have your toddler scoop the gold coins into the empty container.
Benefits: This activity helps develop fine motor skills and is great for sensory play!
Activity 4: Simple We See Green Nature Walk
Materials needed: A basket and outdoor space
Instructions: Head outside with a basket and find as many green items as you can. You can also prep this ahead by placing green items outside. To make it more fun, have your toddler run, jump, spin, etc. while looking for items.
Benefits: This activity helps develop color identification and gross motor skills!
Activity 5: St. Patrick’s Day Activity Book
Materials needed: St. Patrick’s Day Activity Book
Instructions: Choose a page or two each day during the month of March!
Benefits: This St. Patrick’s Day Activity Book was created by me specifically for kids ages 2-4. It includes St. Patrick’s Day-themed songs, numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and more! Learn more about it here.
